URL Status Checker
Check up to 25 links at once: which load, which redirect, and which are broken.
Paste a list of web addresses, one per line.
How to check the status of several URLs
- Paste your addresses, one per line.
- Click Check all.
- Read the table as it fills in: the status code, the number of redirects and the final address of each.
What the status codes tell you
A code of 200 means the page loads. 301 and 308 mean it has moved permanently, and 302 and 307 temporarily; the table shows where each ends up. 404 means the page does not exist and 410 that it was removed on purpose. Codes starting with 5 mean the server failed. Links on your site that lead to a 404, or through a chain of redirects, are worth fixing.
Frequently asked questions
Why only 25 at a time?
Each address is a real request made by our server, so the number is limited to keep the tool fast and prevent misuse. Run the tool again for the next batch.
Why does a page that opens for me show 403?
Some sites block automated checks. The page may work in a browser and still refuse a checker.
Does it find broken links on a page?
No. It checks the addresses you list; it does not read a page to find the links inside it.
Is what I look up stored?
No. Our server makes the lookup once and sends the result back to you. What you enter and the result are not saved.
