About iLoveMyFile

iLoveMyFile is a collection of free tools for the small jobs that come up every day: merging two PDFs, shrinking a photo, signing a form, checking a redirect, tidying a block of code.

What makes it different

Most online file tools work by uploading your file to a server, processing it there and sending it back. That means your contract, your passport scan or your family photo sits on someone else's computer, at least for a while.

Almost every tool here works the other way round. The tool is sent to your browser, and your browser does the work. Your file is opened, changed and saved on your own device and is never uploaded to us. As a side effect there is no upload wait and no size limit other than your device's memory.

A few tools cannot work that way, because they need to ask the internet a question: looking up a domain's DNS records, reading a website's SSL certificate, following a redirect. For those, the web address you type is sent to our server so that it can make the check. Each of those tools says so on its page.

What we try to get right

• Honest results. A tool should never claim success when the result is wrong. Where a tool has limits — for example, converting a PDF to Word keeps the text but not the exact layout — the page says so.
• One clear job per tool. No sign-up wall, no watermark, no maze of options.
• Works on any device. Every tool is built to work on a phone as well as a computer.
