Turning a picture by 90 degrees swaps its width and height. A 1200 by 800 photo becomes 800 by 1200.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my photo look sideways on some devices?
Phones store a note saying which way up the photo is, and some programs ignore it. Rotating here saves the pixels themselves the right way up, so it looks right everywhere.
Does rotating reduce quality?
PNG and WebP pictures are not affected. A JPG is saved again, which can cause a very small loss that is rarely visible.
Can I rotate by a custom angle?
No. Only quarter turns and a half turn are offered.
