Frequently asked questions

Are numbers converted to JSON numbers?

No. Every value is kept as text exactly as it appears in the CSV, so values such as ZIP codes and IDs with leading zeros are never altered.

Does it support semicolons or tabs?

Yes. The separator is detected automatically from the first row: comma, semicolon or tab.

What if a row has too many values?

The tool stops and tells you which row, rather than quietly dropping data. Usually a value containing a comma needs to be wrapped in double quotes.

Is my text uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so what you paste never leaves your device.
