Print a page number at the bottom of every page of a PDF. Choose where the number sits and which number to start from.

How to add page numbers to a PDF

  1. Choose your PDF, or drop it on the page.
  2. Pick a position: bottom left, bottom centre or bottom right.
  3. Set the starting number if the document should not begin at 1.
  4. Click the button and download the numbered PDF.

Good to know

Numbers are added to every page, in order. If the first pages should have no number (a cover, for example), split them off first, number the rest, and merge the two parts again.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start numbering from a different number?

Yes. Enter the starting number before you click the button. This helps when the PDF is one part of a longer document.

Will the numbers cover my text?

They are small and sit in the bottom margin. If a page has content right at the bottom edge, the number may overlap it.

Can I remove the numbers later?

No. They become part of the page. Keep your original file if you might need it without numbers.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The work is done inside your browser, on your own device. Your file is never sent to us, so there is nothing for us to store or see.
