How to convert Word to PDF
- Choose your Word document (.docx).
- Check the preview.
- Click Save as PDF. In the window that opens, choose Save as PDF as the printer or destination, then save.
What to expect
The content of your document is converted: headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, lists, tables, links and pictures, in any language. The result is a clean, readable PDF with selectable text. It does not copy Word's exact page layout, so custom fonts, headers and footers, columns, text boxes and precise spacing will look different. For documents where the layout must match exactly, use "Save as PDF" inside Word itself.
Frequently asked questions
Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?
The content will be the same; the layout may not. Simple documents such as letters, reports and essays convert well. Heavily designed documents will look different.
Can I convert old .doc files?
No, only .docx. Open the .doc file in Word or Google Docs, save it as .docx, then convert it.
Are images and tables included?
Yes. Pictures and tables in the document are carried into the PDF.
Why does a print window open?
The PDF is made by your browser's built-in PDF engine, which gives sharp, selectable text in every language. Choosing "Save as PDF" in that window saves the file instead of printing it. You can also set the paper size, margins and orientation there.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your file is converted in your browser and never leaves your device.
