What happens to quality

The PNG is an exact copy of how the JPG looks now. It cannot bring back detail the JPG already lost, and the file will be larger, often several times larger for photos.

Frequently asked questions

Will converting to PNG make my photo sharper?

No. It keeps the current quality exactly but does not improve it. To sharpen a soft photo, use Image Enhancer.

Will the background become transparent?

No. A JPG has no transparency to keep. Use Remove Background to cut the subject out.

Can I convert several files at once?

Does the picture size change?
